Our first house concert of 2026 is going to be a doozy! We’re pleased to welcome back Colm Broderick, along with Niamh Dalton and Sky Kelsey!
Hailing from County Carlow, Colm Broderick is a multiple All-Ireland champion in uilleann piping, a Seán Ó Riada Gold Medal winner, and was selected by Na Píobairí Uilleann to be the custodian of a historic set of uilleann pipes once owned by Liam O’Flynn, and before him, by Willie Clancy. This iconic Rowsome set is among the most revered instruments in the history of Irish piping. Being entrusted with it was not only a recognition of Colm’s technical ability and sensitivity as a player, but also a statement of faith in his commitment to preserving and honouring the tradition. Colm stands today not only as one of the leading pipers of his generation, but also as a vital link between past masters and future players!
Niamh Dalton is a highly accomplished concertina player from Gneeveguilla, County Kerry, a region deeply rooted in the rich musical tradition of Sliabh Luachra. Growing up in this vibrant musical heartland, Niamh has been immersed in the distinctive style of the area from an early age, carrying forward a legacy of traditional music passed down through generations. Niamh is an experienced and dedicated music teacher. She has taught for many years at the Killarney School of Music. Niamh is also a tutor at the prestigious concertina festival Consairtín, as well as Scoil Samhradh Willie Clancy in Miltown Malbay.
And most of you know multi-instrumentalist, Sky Kelsey. Originally from Anchorage Alaska, Sky was introduced to Irish music through a local and vibrant traditional music scene. At the age of twelve, Sky began studying with James Kelly, and would continue tutelage with James for the next eight years. In the last seven years, Sky has taught traditional music on the fiddle, bouzouki, bodhran, and banjo across the U.S. while residing in Boulder Colorado. And he has made a name for himself in Ireland as well!
