This is going to be a great show, featuring two major powerhouses in Irish traditional music! Acclaimed Irish flutist and singer, Steph Geremia will be joined by Scotland’s bouzouki master, Aaron Jones (Old Blind Dogs), mixing powerful instrumentals and songs from the Irish, folk and Americana traditions as featured on Steph’s new album, If Tomorrow
Performing internationally for the past 16 years with artists including Eddi Reader, Alan Kelly Gang, The Chieftains and Lúnasa, Steph is perhaps best known for her vibrant Irish flute playing as displayed on her sparkling 2018 release Up She Flew. Then just last month, Steph marked an exciting new chapter with the release of her first solo album fully dedicated to song, If Tomorrow.
What sets Steph apart is not only her technical prowess but also her ability to infuse her performances with a unique blend of emotion and innovation. She effortlessly weaves traditional melodies with her own artistic interpretations, resulting in captivating and evocative musical arrangements.
Aaron Jones is one of the most sought after accompanists on the traditional music scene today. As well as Old Blind Dogs, (twice ‘Folk Band of the Year’ at the Scots Trad Music Awards and Traditional Music ‘Hall of Fame’ Inductees 2020), Aaron has toured worldwide and recorded with many of the biggest names in traditional music, including Kate Rusby, Téada (with Séamus Begley), Battlefield Band, Tannahill Weavers, Siobhan Miller, Emily Smith, Claire Mann, Litha, Robyn Stapleton and many more.
He has also appeared as a musician and sometimes producer on nearly one-hundred albums. Aaron regularly composes music for TV with recent projects including ‘Sanditon’ by Jane Austen for ITV/PBS, the BBC drama ‘Bloodlands’ featuring James Nesbitt and 2021’s ‘Law and Order – Organized Crime’ on US network NBC.
