Just a reminder about our upcoming shows and workshop over the next 5 weeks:
There are still plenty of seats available for Brian Conway this Saturday. Brian is really amazing to listen to. He grew up in New York, being mentored by the likes of Martin Wynne and Andy McGann, who were protege’s of Michael Coleman. Brian is the preeminent torch-bearer for the “New York Sligo” style of Irish fiddle, and has won many awards for his highly ornamented style of Irish music! He has also mentored many a student to an All-Ireland championship, including the likes of Dylan Foley, Haley Richardson, Jayne Pomplas, Patrick Mangan, and Maeve Flanagan, so if you’re a player, you don’t want to miss his workshop on Saturday afternoon!

Following Brian’s show, we are really pleased to welcome back the Southwest Ramblers! We had planned to host them again last year, but there were snags in them getting their visas for the tour squared away. The Southwest Ramblers feature the button accordion playing of Hughie Kennedy from Cork, the fiddling of Grace Broadhead from Albuquerque, and amazing piano accompaniment and playing from Jason Turk, also from Co. Cork! They play with a lively, uplifting sound, which makes for a perfect escape from the stresses of the world! Come help make their little jaunt into Colorado a success!

Finishing out our Spring series of shows is our old friend, Randal Bays! Randal is another amazing fiddler and guitar player! People who have been around the music for a long time know him as the accompanist for Martin Hayes in the earlier days of Martin’s solo career. But Randal is deeply immersed in the fiddle music of Co. Clare, and spends a lot of his time as a powerful advocate of the music! He founded both the Friday Harbor and Cascadia teaching camps, and has numerous wonderful fiddle recordings out there. Randal has performed for our house concert series more than any other performer, and has yet to disappoint! And his workshops have gained a reputation around here for being excellent! Randal will be performing with Colorado’s own Marty Smith on bouzouki and songs!
